Lovemongering--Love in other blogs...

It's Thursday again...

For those of you who might not be familiar (and, by the way: Greetings, New Readers!), each Thursday, I put aside the hijinx, and give you the weekly dose of love. By this I mean that I set aside some heartfelt moments to try to help others by highlighting organizations or people that I think need our help. It is the best way I know to spread love and make a difference. Yes, it is maybe a small, probably pathetic way to do so, but I'd like to think each of our small endeavors eventually add up to something. The case in point I always use can be found by clicking HERE.
Yes, I am totally aware that Phelan is prolly sick of me using an example but, hey, it IS a great example!

Anyway, the other part of this sort of Lovemongering thing is as a meditation on GRATEFULNESS. I mean, if YOU can help someone else, you aren't as HELPLESS as you think. And these times seem to bring on the feeling in helplessness for many of us, I know. But even in MY jobless, worrisome state, I CAN choose to help others. I can post about people who need help, I can volunteer....heck, I can do lotsa stuff and that makes me feel good.

This week, I wanted to highlight some special blogs. These are not people who have organizations that help others, or who are asking help for themselves...but..these are people brave enough to talk about being sick. These people have cancer. They are not blogging for sympathy. They are bravely sharing their fight online, without pity, perhaps in the hope of helping others.

Why do I think it's important to share their information with you? Hmm, I hear so much fear ou there lately. So much negativity. My thought is that, no matter how bad you think you have it, how much you think you might lose, you HAVE YOUR HEALTH, and the ability to change your circumstances, at any time. We take our health for granted; our health is a gift.

So please, go see these blogs. Leave a note of encouragement. These folks aren't even asking for that much, but I bet you will feel better doing it:

Blogging in B Minor - This musician speaks in sweet, honest words about the many aspects of life
Rose Colored Cancer - I love her! A fellow farm-girl, she is witty and sarcastic about the healthcare system. Who wouldn't be?

Until next time, Readers, MANY BLESSINGS!

How heart-breaking that the body can betray such holy spirits. Thanks for sharing the links. A good dose of "grateful for what I have" and "how can I help others" is the best breakfast.
